Welcome back! In this lovely, sunny weather I decided to get away for a few days camping in the beautiful Somerset countryside and Devon coast before the summer holiday rush begins. When I got back to work, I was looking at our wonderful selection of puzzles and was delighted to find some that reminded me so much of the places I had visited - I want to share some of those coast and countryside jigsaw puzzles with you in today's blog.
My husband Rob, our dog Gandalf and I set off for a few days camping on beautiful Exmoor, we always stay at a wonderful farm right on the moors.
It’s a working farm with cows, sheep, horses and lots of dogs. The old farmhouse with its barns really reminds me of Fruit Tree Farm, a charming 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle from Otter House.
The farmhouse sits down in a small valley surrounded by woods and the rolling moors, just like in another 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle from Otter House: Stable Yard.
We always start our holidays by walking Gandalf on the moors.
We only have to cross the road from the farm to be treated to stunning vistas spanning Somerset.
The rolling hills and fields bring to mind a delightful 500 piece landscape jigsaw puzzle from Galison called Painted Hills.
The pale pinks remind me of the heather that covers the moors.
The second day of our break was the perfect day to walk through the woods next to the river, so we took a trip down to Tarr Steps.
It was like walking through the Gill Erskine-Hill painting jigsaw puzzle River Bend, Exmoor. This stunning countryside jigsaw will always remind me of that wonderful day.
On the way back from a very relaxing few days on Exmoor, we decided to take a detour to the beautiful town of Salcombe. This stunning town sits on the banks of an estuary.
With its narrow streets and charming cottages leading down to the small harbour and pristine beaches, it really reminded me of Harbour Cottages, a peaceful coastal jigsaw puzzle by Falcon de Luxe.
The three of us had a wonderful holiday in the Somerset sunshine, I hope you have enjoyed this tour of the countryside and coast as much as we did! To view more summer jigsaw puzzles, click here.
