Making the most of a wonderful staycation!
It’s holiday time and with some travel restrictions still in place Staycation has become the ideal holiday. In today’s blog, we thought we would take you on a journey around the UK, give you ideas of fun things to do and share the joys of outdoor living, all through the medium of Jigsaw Puzzles.
Places to visit
There are some wonderful places to visit in the UK, from the highlands of Scotland to the beaches of the Silly Isles.
London is full of things to do; you could take a spin on The London Eye, admire the worlds my famous collection of jewels at The Tower of London, or just enjoy the many beautiful parks. Tim Bulmer’s ‘Map of London’ jigsaw puzzle is a great way to discover more about the city.
The UK has some wonderful beaches to enjoy, there are stunning remote white sands in the Hebrides and more well-known spots for fun and sunshine like Rhossili Bay. You could take a trip to Dorset and visit the beautiful Swanage Bay, as featured in this charming jigsaw puzzle by artist Wendy Brown.
Things to do
When the sun is shining, the British Isles offers you a wonderful selection of things to do.
Our stunning countryside is perfect for a day’s hiking, you could hike through the highlands like in this stunning jigsaw by Gibsons.
Others may enjoy a bit more of a party atmosphere and, for those of you who are looking for some live entertainment, there are plenty of events on offer. You could spend a weekend at a Sausage and Cider festival like the one in the joyful jigsaw from the Falcon de luxe range.
Or if the weather is not quite as sunny as expected, why not take a trip to one of the many galleries, museums, zoos and sea life centres dotted around the country. Hopefully your day out will be less chaotic than the one featured in our ‘Chaos at the Aquarium’ jigsaw puzzle.
Outdoor living
With most of us enjoying a Staycation, the sales of caravan and camping equipment has shot up. So if you enjoy a holiday where you can move from place to place, or sleep under the stars then you will know that the UK has hundreds of wonderful places to stay. Hopefully, which ever type of accommodation you choose, your stay will be more successful than the characters in our ‘Caravan Commotion’ and ‘Far from the madding crowd, the camping collection’ jigsaw puzzles.
Taking a tour from indoors
Staycations are a wonderful thing, and our stunning island certainly has many wonderful sights to see, but we all know that the main draw back is the weather. On those days when it’s just too wet to venture outside you can still take a tour of our amazing county through the humorous mind of Tim Bulmer. Discover more about England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales with the Tim Bulmer Commercial Map Collection and laugh away those rainy days.
Something to remember your staycation by
Our holidays can fly by so quickly that it’s sometimes hard to remember everything that you did. We take so many photos of our time away which get quickly posted to social media and then forgotten about. One great way to use those pictures is by turning them into a photo jigsaw. We do several different sized photo jigsaws, for all jigsaw puzzling abilities, all you need to do is upload your favourite image and we’ll do the rest.
Another great way to keep those wonderful holiday memories alive and remind yourself of the places you visited, is with a map jigsaw puzzle. You simply give us the location of where you stayed, and we turn that into a map jigsaw. Both the photo jigsaw puzzles and map jigsaw puzzles are a wonderful way to allow you to piece together the locations you visited, places you stayed and memories you made for many years to come.
