Welcome, in today’s blog we want to celebrate Earth Day and talk about what we and some of our 3rd party suppliers are doing to protect the planet.
At AJP we love trees!
Here at AJP we love puzzles and we love trees, so we’re doing everything we can to make sure that our products have as little impact on the environment as possible.
Last year we introduced our new planet-friendly boxes. Made from recyclable materials, these new boxes have a tray and lid that fit together securely, meaning there is no need for stickers that can’t be recycled. This also means that there is no longer a need to wrap our puzzle boxes in plastic, leading to even less waste! The new design does mean a smaller image on the box, but we now include an A3 guide print to follow throughout the assembly of your jigsaw.
Gibsons are working with Tribe
We are proud to say that we are not the only jigsaw manufacturer doing their part to protect the planet. Like us, our friends at Gibsons are producing puzzles made from 100% recyclable materials. With every puzzle they sell a donation is made to Tr1be who work with rainforest projects that help reduce carbon emissions.
Otter’s wild commitment
Our friends at Otter house have committed their company to a list of ongoing plans to reduce their carbon footprint, from being powered by green energy to installing electric vehicle charging points at their facilities. You can learn about everything they are doing by clicking the image below.
Ravensburger rave about the environment
Ravensburger has committed to protecting the planet by cutting down on single-use plastics, using recycled paper and cardboard in their products. They aim to be carbon neutral by the end of 2023 and are working with climate protection projects to help them reach their goal.
The future of our planet begins to look a little brighter as more companies like these work together to reduce the impact that their products have on the environment. Another great way jigsaw puzzlers can be more environmentally friendly whilst still enjoying their favorite pastime, is to give your puzzles to friends, neighbors or charity when you have finished with them.
We hope this blog has given you a little hope for the future of the planet and puzzling!
